The universe which is also the home to our planet earth,
is full with misery, we may think we know one or two things about the universe,
we had no ideal of the breathtaking things it has.
Today am gonna be sharing some of the wonders and fact that you probably had no ideals of.
The fastest spinning objects in the universe are neutron stars, these can rotate 500 times in just 1 second.
Over one million earths can fit on the sun.
Saturn is the flattest planet in the solar system: its polar diameter is only 90% of its equatorial diameter.
Every year the sun evaporates 100,000 cubic miles of water from earth (400 trillion tonnes).
In 1843 the huge star Eta Car erupted, ejecting 2 gas bubbles with as much mass as the sun, each.
The largest structure found in the universe is the Sloan Great Wall, a super cluster of galaxies 1.37 billion light-years wide.
Sedna is an icy solar system body that is so distant, it takes 11,400 years to orbit the sun. It resides roughly 3 times further out from the sun than Neptune, and is two thirds the size of pluto. It is one of the most distant objects known in the solar system, and although sedna is covered in ice, it appear almost as red as mars.
One Day on pluto is about the length of a week on earth.
M64, The Blackeye Galaxy’s outer section of it’s galactic disk is rotating in the opposite direction to the inner section.Friction at the boundary where the opposite travelling gas and dust clouds meet, causes intense star birth.
Mars is rich in water ice, in fact NASA in 2007 stated that the volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be enough to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 11 meters.
Uranus is the coldest planet in the solar system, and gives off less heat than it absorbs from the sun.
A typical galaxy may contain anywhere between about ten million and one trillion stars. Dark matter makes up roughly 85% of the matter in the universe.
If the planet jupiter had been 80 times more massive, it would have formed into a star.
There are thought to be more than 170 billion galaxies in the observable universe, each one can contain up to a few hundred billion stars. The word galaxy comes from Greek term for our own Galaxy which means “milky circle”.
Titan is at this moment the only moon in the solar system with an atmosphere. Atmosphere on Titan is ten times denser than the atmosphere of Earth. Titan’s atmosphere does not include nitrogen and oxygen like Earth’s, but rather nitrogen and methane.
Andromeda galaxy shows a large ring of dust 75,000 light-years across encircling the centre of the galaxy. Some scientists believe this is the result of a collision with another galaxy in the past.
Saturn’s moon Titan is the second largest moon in the solar system, being 50% larger than our moon. it is the only place known other than earth where liquid exists on the surface in the form of lakes and rivers.
Pluto is not a planet, because it does not have a fixed orbit and it’s orbit comes in between the orbit of another planet (Neptune).
The Moon has an atmosphere but it’s 0.000000000000003 times as thick as the air on Earth’s surface.
Jupiter’s moon Ganymede is the largest moon in the solar system, even bigger than the planet Mercury. Saturn’s moon Titan is the second largest moon, and earth’s moon is the fifth largest.
